Site Settings Overview

Configure your website settings, manage data, and control who can access your analytics dashboard.

Accessing Settings

To access your site settings:

  1. Log in to your Ovyxa dashboard
  2. Click on your site name in the top navigation
  3. Select Settings from the dropdown menu

Only site owners and administrators can access settings. Viewers have read-only access to analytics data.

Settings Sections

General Settings

Configure your site's basic information and tracking preferences:

  • Site domain and display name
  • Timezone for accurate date boundaries
  • Currency for e-commerce tracking
  • Tracking features (outbound links, file downloads)
  • Page and IP exclusions

Visibility Settings

Control who can see your analytics data:

  • Dashboard visibility (private or public)
  • Public dashboard links
  • Team member management
  • API key generation

Data Management

Manage your analytics data:

  • Data retention periods
  • Export your data (CSV or JSON)
  • Delete your site and all associated data
  • GDPR compliance tools

Danger Zone

Critical actions that permanently affect your site:

  • Transfer ownership
  • Delete site (cannot be undone)

Changes Take Effect Immediately

Most settings changes take effect immediately. For example:

  • Changing timezone affects how data is grouped from that point forward
  • Enabling outbound link tracking starts tracking clicks immediately
  • IP exclusions apply to new pageviews after saving

Historical data is not retroactively changed by settings modifications.

Who Can Change Settings

Only users with the following roles can modify settings:

  • Owner - Full access to all settings
  • Admin - Can modify most settings except ownership transfer
  • Viewer - Cannot access settings (read-only dashboard access)
